An Arranged Marriage by Family
Arranged marriage, a form of marriage where the families of the bride and groom select the partner for their offspring, has been a traditional practice in many cultures for centuries. In some cultures, the practice still thrives today. In an arranged marriage, the bride and groom may have little to no say in the choice of their partner.
Growing up in a family that practices arranged marriages, I knew that I may one day enter into such a union. Although the thought of having no say in the choice of my partner was unsettling, I trusted in my parents to make the right decision for me.
Upon reaching adulthood, my parents began the search for my future partner. They consulted with friends and family members, and even visited several matchmakers to find the perfect match. After a thorough search, they found a suitable partner for me.
As is customary in an arranged marriage, I was to meet my prospective spouse and his family. Initial meetings were usually brief and formal, but we were given the opportunity to get to know each other more over time. I found that, although we came from different backgrounds and had different personalities, we shared many common values and interests.
With time, we fell in love and our families agreed to the union. Despite being from different cultures, we found that our love transcended boundaries and that we could have a fulfilling life together. Our wedding was a celebration of love and unity, bringing two families together as one.
Looking back, I am glad that my parents decided to have an arranged marriage for me. They knew me better than I knew myself and found a partner that I could trust and love for the rest of my life. While the concept of an arranged marriage may seem archaic and restrictive to some, it has helped me find my true soulmate.
In conclusion, an arranged marriage by family may not be for everyone, but it has proven to be a successful way of finding love and happiness for many people. Trust in one's parents and faith in fate can lead to the most unlikely of unions, and create a life filled with love and joy.
